What Makes Latisse and Generic Latisse So Good?

Latisse is the first and only eyelash enhancer product. It was produced by Allergan (the same company that manufactures Botox), this prescription is used to treat hypotrichosis, a technical term for not having enough eyelashes. The company confidently promises more beautiful, longer, luscious eyelashes. This is because of an active ingredient, Bimatoprost, in the product that is known to promote lash growth. While most reviews about Latisse has been positive, there are some negative effects that can arise from allergic reactions.

The bimatoprost which is an FDA-approved drug has also been used to treat glaucoma and help with ocular pressure. There are also other inactive ingredients such as benzalkonium chloride, sodium phosphate, sodium chloride, dibasic, citric acid, and purified water. It has been noted that prolonged use of Benzalkonium chloride can cause allergic reactions to users with more sensitive situations. Latisse to be effective has to be applied once a day to the base of the upper eyelashes with a sterile, disposable applicator for at least eight weeks before you can expect to see any noticeable results in the appearance of your eyelashes.

Along with this mild danger are a list of other threats such as: redness of the eye, an itching sensation at the site of application, eye irritation, and dryness of the eye. Some customers have also complained about hyperpigmentation (which is darkening of the skin) around the application site,the falling out of eyelashes, and the discoloration of the eyes(which is probably caused by an allergic reaction. Other critics have noted that in some cases it has taken up to four months to see any noticeable results (granted everyone’s noticeable is probably different), and have claimed that result do not last unless you continue to use Latisse.

Aside from the very rare occasions that I have just mentioned, Latisse has gotten very good reviews. The information above sounds alot worse than the real situation. Remember that these cases are more than likely around a one in a thousand negative to positive feedback ratio, and that I explained the negatives because there is alot of positive reviews on Latisse, and I wanted to illustrate the mild dangers involved in the use of this product.
